Anti-immigration stickers linked to a neo-Nazi group were found outside Roper and Kerwin halls Monday afternoon.

The stickers say, "NO means NO! #MyBordersMyChoice." They appear to have been posted by NOVA Stormers, a group that seems to be affiliated with neo-Nazi blog, The Daily Stormer.

One sticker was posted on a lamp post in front of the residence hall's entrance. Another was plastered on a nearby blue light emergency phone.

So far, American University Public Safety has located eight stickers, according to a statement issued by Vice President of Campus Life Dr. Fanta Aw at 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Public Safety responded to the incident around 1 p.m. to remove the stickers. Public Safety is investigating the incident, Aw wrote in the statement.

The stickers are part of a larger campaign, according to a post on Voat, a "censorship-free community platform." A user named "mybordersmychoice" uploaded the following instructions to the forum Tuesday, Jan. 16. The user encouraged people to use the stickers to target "feminism and [social justice warrior] related areas."

1. Posters go up on campuses & public spaces around the world! The campaign began Jan 21 and will continue as long as the posters are effective
2. Bonus points for putting them in feminism & SJW related areas: social science & psychology departments, women's & gender studies departments, office doors of feminist profs, etc.
3. Please do not commit vandalism or do anything illegal
4. Translations are available for over 25 countries
5. Only use the official versions of the poster below
6. HAVE FUN! =)

Aw said the stickers could have been posted in response to the DACA and Women's marches held in D.C. this past weekend.

"We do not believe that AU was specifically targeted. Rather, these flyers represented part of an international, hateful movement attempting to provoke fear in and intimidate immigrant communities throughout the world," said Aw.

Translations of the anti-immigration message have been produced in German, French, Swedish and several other languages.
